It has taken a long while, far too long but as they say better late than never. Ladies and Gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure and a feeling of some achievement, to welcome you to the OpenSpaces Blog.
The idea of writing a blog was conceived in 2010 and was meant to form a key part of the OpenSpaces Ltd blog. I had this vision of blogging regularly but somehow forgot that between a dream and reality there is this thing called ‘ doing’. I also underestimated, as all new entrepreneurs do, the amount of work needed to start a business. But hey, we are live now and that’s what counts.
So what is this blog about ? The simple aim of this blog is to inform and educate readers, in a light hearted manner, about financial regulation! Simples as the Merkat would say. We will comment on and add our analysis of topical regulatory issues and other issues affecting the financial services industry. We will look at the City (UK), Broad Street (Nigeria) and of course, the daddy of them all, Wall Street.
We’ll try to be light hearted, witty and funny but if we don’t succeed please bear with us, it is not easy trying to make Basle 3, Leverage Buffer, Shadow Banking funny.
Our Blog will appear when able (I’ve learnt not to make any promises!) but at least once a month, we hope to become part of your regular blog reading.
